Financial Services

AI agents built for UK financial services firms.

Every document your firm produces has to be watertight. We design, build, and run AI agents that take on the documentation load behind advice, wealth, and pension operations. That gives your advisers and case handlers the time to get back to the work that needs them.

Where The Time Goes

Compliance load is climbing. Adviser capacity isn't.

The work that has to be done carefully is the work that takes the longest. Suitability files. Annual reviews. Consumer Duty MI. Affordability packs. Financial promotion sign-off. None of it is the work your advisers and case handlers came into the profession to do, and none of it is shrinking.

01

Less than 5%

Of UK financial advice firms have a full AI policy, with guidelines and sign-off in place. The governance scaffolding isn't yet there to scale beyond pilots. NextWealth, Clearing the Path for AI in Advice, November 2025. [1]

02

9%

Of UK adults received regulated financial advice in 2024, down from 11% the year before. The cost of producing each advice file is part of why. FCA Financial Lives Survey 2024. [2]

03

~20,000

Financial promotions amended or withdrawn after FCA intervention in 2024, nearly doubling the prior year. The review burden is rising across platforms, payments firms, and consumer credit. FCA Financial Promotions Quarterly Data, Q4 2024. [3]

Most firms have a CRM that holds the data. A platform that holds the assets. A compliance team that reviews a sample of files. What's missing is anything in between that can do the structured first pass on the documentation itself, in a way that's auditable, repeatable, and built around how your firm actually works. This is where the cost per file lives and it's where AI agents can make the biggest difference.

What We Automate

Four workflows where an agent earns its keep.

Below are some examples of workflow areas we can build agents for. The exact steps and outputs are designed around your firm's specific process during a Discovery session.

Suitability and advice file production

This could look like an agent that takes a recorded fact-find through to a suitability draft your adviser can sign off.

  • Audio capture from the client meeting
  • Structured extraction of objectives, attitude to risk, capacity for loss, existing arrangements, and dependants
  • Mapping into your firm's suitability template
  • Cross-checking against COBS requirements and the four Consumer Duty outcomes
  • Draft replacement business reports and annual review packs on the same scaffolding

Results

A draft suitability letter and supporting evidence pack, in your firm's house style, ready for adviser review.

Mortgage intermediary back office

We might build this as an agent that takes a case from initial documents through to a packaged file the adviser can submit.

  • Bank statement and payslip reading
  • Income and expenditure categorised against the lender's affordability template
  • ID and source-of-funds verification
  • Lender policy matching across the panel
  • Decision in Principle drafting, with re-work loops when the lender comes back with queries

Results

An affordability summary and packaged case file, with the supporting evidence and lender-specific notes already attached.

Consumer Duty MI and board reporting

An agent at this stage could take MI from across your stack and turn it into board-ready outcome narrative.

  • Aggregation across CRM, platform, adviser desk, and complaints log
  • Outcome mapping against the four Consumer Duty rules: products and services, price and value, consumer understanding, consumer support
  • Vulnerable customer flagging from call and meeting data
  • Plain-English narrative drafting that links the data to the outcomes it evidences

Results

A draft Consumer Duty board pack, with the data, narrative, and audit trail linked together in one document.

Financial promotion review

Or an agent that screens marketing material against FCA financial promotion rules before it goes live.

  • Ingestion of decks, social copy, web pages, brochures, and emails
  • Rule-mapped review against FCA financial promotion rules and ASA guidance
  • Balance, fair representation, and risk-warning checks
  • Issues flagged with rule references and suggested rewrites
  • An audit trail of every review for the compliance file

Results

A marked-up review with rule-by-rule findings and a clear audit record, ready for compliance sign-off.

Design, Build, Run

We design the agent. We build it. We run it.

Most providers will sell you a tool. We design the agent around your process, build it against your standards, and then run it on an ongoing basis.

Phase 1

Design

A 30-minute Discovery session, then a scoping engagement. We map the process, identify the agent type, and produce a specification you can challenge before any build starts.

Phase 2

Build

Custom development against your firm's templates, rule sets, and CRM. Tested and evaluated against the cases that actually break, not the easy ones.

Live

Run

We monitor performance, retrain as your process evolves, and review outputs against the standards we set together. Your team manages the work, not the model.

The Build Team

Senior engineers, isolated Azure tenancy, no juniors learning on your project.

The Commercial Model

You only pay when the agent delivers.

A refundable commitment for each agent we design and build, paid upfront. You only pay when the agent goes live and starts producing outputs. Failed outputs aren't billed. The full specifics, including ongoing per-output pricing and contract terms, sit on the pricing page.

The commercial structure is part of the product. We don't sell licences, seats, or build-and-walk-away projects. We carry the build risk on the refundable commitment, and we get paid when the agent delivers. If it doesn't, the commitment comes back.

Governance

Built for the regulators you already answer to.

The FCA has been clear that no AI-specific regulation is coming for financial services in the near term, and that existing rules already apply. That's not a free pass.

Consumer Duty applies to AI-assisted advice files the same way it applies to anything else. Good outcomes are required regardless of whether a human or an agent produced the first draft.

SMCR makes a named senior manager personally accountable for AI governance. The agent is a tool; the responsibility stays with a named individual.

ICO guidance under Article 22 of the UK GDPR means there has to be meaningful human review of any AI output that materially affects a consumer. Human sign-off isn't optional.

The same framework runs through the FCA's conduct rules across advice, wealth, platforms, mortgage intermediation, payments, and consumer credit; the ICO on UK GDPR and Article 22 automated decision-making rights; TPR's pension administration standards; the FOS, where consumer complaints land if internal resolution fails; and the sector guidance coming from PIMFA and TISA.

Every agent we build is designed to fit inside that framework rather than work around it. Full audit trails of every input, every step, and every output. Human-in-the-loop sign-off as the default. Isolated Azure tenancy, with no client data leaving your environment to train shared models. The Synextra team behind the build has spent many years running UK financial infrastructure on Azure.

Questions In Scoping

Common questions when we scope agents with financial services firms.

Five questions most likely to come up in scoping. The specific answers for your firm sit in a Discovery session, not on a landing page.

We run on Intelliflo, IRESS, or a back-office CRM we depend on. Can an agent actually plug into that?

Yes, in most cases. Modern advice and wealth back-office systems expose enough through APIs, integrations, and document import to make this work, and we've run integrations against the major UK platforms before. Where a system is more closed, we design the agent to work alongside it rather than inside it, picking up documents on one side and dropping structured outputs into the CRM on the other. The integration story is part of what we map in a Discovery session.

How does an AI agent in our advice process affect our PII cover?

It's a fair question and one of the more common ones we get. The defensible position, supported by what underwriters are saying in adjacent professional sectors, is that AI-assisted documentation reviewed and signed off by a qualified, FCA-authorised adviser should sit inside your existing cover. The risk we help you manage is the governance side: full audit trails, human sign-off, clear documentation of how the agent works. We'll support you in briefing your PII underwriter on the agent before it goes live.

Where does this sit under SMCR?

Inside your existing accountability map. The FCA and PRA have confirmed that SMCR already covers the use of AI in regulated firms, which means a named senior manager carries the responsibility for AI governance regardless of who builds the agent. Most firms allocate this to the COO or head of compliance under SMF18 or equivalent. We document the agent in a way that supports that allocation rather than complicating it, including the evidence pack a senior manager would want if asked to explain the governance to the regulator.

Consumer Duty asks us to evidence outcomes. Doesn't an AI-assisted file make that harder?

The other way round, in practice. Consumer Duty asks for outcome evidence. A well-built agent produces a consistent audit trail of how each output was generated, what data went into it, and where the human review happened. That's easier to evidence than a manual file written from scratch by a different paraplanner each time. The harder cases are where firms try to deploy AI on top of inconsistent suitability templates. We'll tell you if your underlying process needs tightening first.

Our compliance and operations team is small. How much oversight does this need from us?

Less than building it yourself, more than buying a tool off a shelf. Once the agent is live, our run team monitors performance, picks up the cases where something looked off, retrains when your process changes, and reports back monthly. Your team sets the standards and reviews outputs in the normal way they'd review a human-produced file. The ongoing operational lift is closer to managing a supplier than running an internal AI function.

Ready When You Are

Agents for real work,
not experiments.

If you have a documentation process that's reliable, repeatable, and currently eating adviser or case-handler time that should be spent on clients, an agent will probably help. If it isn't stable enough for that yet, we'll tell you in a Discovery session.

30 minutes. No obligation. No sales pitch.
